Tech Tip: How to use the SafeLift as a glass setting device

May 21, 2020
The SafeLift is designed to work with any size window, therefore if you are working with a larger size window or need a larger working space you can make an adjustment.

Set up SafeLift as a glass stand by loosening the strap, allowing you to lower to a comfortable working height. In order to prepare your glass for setting, place your glass on the stand, and lock your cups down onto the glass. This stand features 360-degree rotation, allowing you to wet scrub and prime all the way around the glass. Now, unhook your strap, release the lock mechanism, and swivel your glass over. Once you’re ready to install the glass, release the locking mechanism, and flip your glass completely over and then lock it back in place. Grab your lift arm and hook the strap back onto the glass stand. Depending on the height of the vehicle you will need to lift the glass stand to the higher working height and then tighten your strap. The SafeLift takes all the weight of the windshield and you are just guiding it into place. Once you get close to the vehicle, use the slow speed on the remote so that you can accurately guide the windshield into place. While setting the glass align the top corner of the glass on your side of the vehicle into place. Then, using your remote, slowly lower the glass into place.

The SafeLift is designed to work with any size window, therefore if you are working with a larger size window or need a larger working space you can make an adjustment. You simply loosen the two screws, slide your cups down to the desired spacing, lock it in place, and then put your screws back in.
