Kolman talks with Gary Ganaway, Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake’s director of marketing and global customer solutions, about the federal mandates to improve the stopping distance performance of heavy duty trucks and their impact on fleets. The next phase of the mandates takes effect on August 1, 2013.

Also discussed are the brake developments being made to meet the reduced stooping distance standards and the greater importance of proper brake relining.
