Kolman’s Komments: He fell down how many steps on purpose?

Oct. 17, 2016
A world record fall.

The cover story for the October issue of Fleet Maintenance Magazine is entitled: Slips, trips and falls prevention guide.

It is all about what causes these types of incidents, how to access the risks of slips, trips and falls in any facility and what to do to minimize or, if possible, eliminate the risks.

In doing research for the article, I came across a most interesting statistic.

Care to guess what the world record is for the most steps tumbled down in a stunt stair fall?

The Guinness World Records says it was 134 steps. This was accomplished by Joaquín Ortega at the Hermitage of the Christ of Bielva in Cantabria, Spain, on November 17, 2006.

Most impressive.

I have a buddy who fell down three steps and fractured his ankle.

Okay, so maybe he wasn’t prepared for his fall.
