Love’s, Speedco to discount DOT inspections, Yokohama tires in May

April 26, 2024
The travel stop service centers are offering 50% off Department of Transportation inspections to help drivers prepare for CVSA’s International Roadcheck.

To offer some help to commercial vehicle drivers ahead of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance International Roadcheck, being held May 14-16, 2024, Love’s Travel Stops is providing discounts on select services across the over-the-road truck maintenance network.

Specifically throughout May, more than 430 Love’s Truck Care and Speedco locations will offer half-off DOT inspections (up to a $45 value) and $80 off per tire when purchasing Yokohama tires. This offer is not valid for fleet service agreements.

“Getting pulled over during a time of heavy DOT enforcement can be costly and time consuming, and we want to help prevent that while keeping drivers safe,” said Eric Daniels, Love’s VP of total truck care. “Our DOT inspection and tire deals are just another way we’re providing more value for customers while they’re keeping a close eye on their expenses.”

This year the CVSA will focus on tractor protections systems and possession of alcohol and controlled substance possession.

CVSA has also updated North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria. If a leak is detected in a non-steer tire—and that tire is connected to an automatic tire inflation system keeping the tire’s air pressure above 50% of the rating on the tire’s sidewall—that will not be counted as an OOS violation.

In addition, missing brake cam shaft bushings now count toward the 20% criteria for defective drum and air brakes.
