Just weeks after the resignation of Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for over 300,000 total heavy-duty Ram pickup trucks due to faulty brake hydraulic control units (HCUs).
The report, submitted on November 27, includes certain 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 Pickup, 3500 Cab Chassis, and 4500/5500 Cab Chassis vehicles.
Affected HCUs were found to be susceptible to failure or malfunction which could impact the performance of the ABS system or Electronic Stability Control/Traction Control, potentially increasing the risk of accident.
Stellantis plans to notify owners of the affected vehicles by January 9, 2025 and has assured customers that free repairs will be offered.
