Paccar is recalling certain 2023-2024 Peterbilt 535, 536, 537, 548, and Kenworth T180, T280, T380, and T480 vehicles due to an issue with the throttle pedal.
Peterbilt
Certain vehicles may have been built with an oversized magnet carrier, which acts as the pivot for the throttle pedal. An oversized magnet carrier may cause binding in the throttle pedal.
If the throttle pedal binds or fails to return to idle it could increase the risk of a crash, but application of the service brake will override the condition, according to the report.
Kenworth
This recall potentially affects 1,110 vehicles. Dealers will inspect vehicles for suspect assemblies and replace any affected assemblies for free, and owners who incurred costs to repair this specific problem before being notified of the recall can seek reimbursement through the process outlined in the general reimbursement plan on file.
