“Whether it’s full electrification, hybrid systems, or highly efficient ICE-based transmissions, we’re focused on delivering performance and total cost of ownership advantages across all segments," said John Hawkins, senior VP of the Americas, commercial vehicle solutions at ZF, mentioning the company's dedication to advancing cleaner mobility solutions.
According to ZF, the hybrid transmission enables up to 14% CO2 emission reduction/fuel savings for short-haul operations and up to 9% for long-haul applications in hybrid EV applications, and depending on charging infrastructure density, vehicle weight and battery size, can achieve up to 40% CO2 emission reduction/fuel savings in PHEV applications based on internal testing.

ZF also showed off its latest electrification technology, an air compressor for commercial vehicles designed with efficiency at the forefront. Oil-free, low-noise, and with minimal vibration during operation, the e-comp Scroll air compression system is built for medium and heavy-duty hybrid, battery electric, and fuel cell trucks, buses, and coaches.
