Prestolite Electric introduced the PowerPro 2.5 12V and the PowerPro 4.5 24V starter motors for the Cummins QSF 2.8L engine. The owners of off-highway equipment equipped with Cummins QSF 2.8L engines can benefit from the cranking performance of genuine Prestolite Electric PowerPro 2.5 12V and 4.5 24V starters, additions to the PowerPro family of replacement starters from Leece-Neville Heavy Duty Systems, a global manufacturer of heavy duty starters and high-output alternators.

Available through replacement parts distributors, Prestolite’s high torque, high power PowerPro 2.5 12V and 4.5 24V starters are engineered and built to meet the demands of QSF 2.8L engines used in a full range of demanding off-highway applications, including agriculture, surface and underground mining, and construction.

Each PowerPro 12V starter produces 2.5 kW of cranking power and the 24V starter produces 4.5 kW of cranking power. Every PowerPro unit features a variety of design and construction enhancements to help ensure longer service life under even the most demanding operating conditions.

“We developed these new PowerPro starters to meet the specific needs and expectations of QSF engine operators,” said Jonathan Smith, assistant director of aftermarket sales and marketing for Prestolite Electric and the Leece-Neville brand. “We know that applications running the QSF engine, whether at a construction site or on a farm, require powerful, reliable cranking performance in all operating conditions. PowerPro starters stand alone in meeting this need.”

The PowerPro 2.5 12V and 4.5 24V starters are covered by a one-year warranty. Because these units are 100 percent new, there is no need to manage cores, according to the company.
