Eaton’s expanded line of circuit protection

Eaton's expanded line of circuit protection includes a dual-trigger pyro fuse for EVs. The pyro fuse uses an igniter and propellant to separate the main busbar and disconnect power in the event of a circuit fault. Meanwhile, the dual-trigger pyro fuse incorporates a stand-alone backup trigger that enables it to separate short circuits without requiring an external command. This capability mimics the passive safety function of a traditional thermal fuse, ensuring an added layer of protection for electric vehicles. These fuses are offered alongside the Bussman series and Breaktor circuit protection technologies, which are designed for up to 1,400 amps and 1,000 volts, and 900 volts and 25,000 amps, respectively.
