Continental launches Conti Scandinavia HD3 tire

April 13, 2023
The new Continental tire features all-weather compounding for increased traction and mileage and can be sold as an intelligent tire.

Continental, a tire and auto technology supplier, is introducing the Conti Scandinavia HD3 tire to its truck portfolio.

The regional drive axle tire is meant to perform in extreme weather conditions, including snow and rain, due to its 3D siping, which provides traction during tough conditions throughout the life of the tire. This 3-D siping includes two-stage, sinusodial siping and two-layered tread construction with chamfered block edges for increased rolling resistance and mileage.

Created with an all-season, Generation 3 winter compound, the Conti Scandinavia HD3 includes a directional mud and snow (M+S) tread pattern that provides even wear and traction and is Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certified. The 3PMSF symbol denotes a more stringent certification that identifies winter tires according to regulations.

Another feature is the Conti 3G casing with an extended 4th belt for enhanced retreadability. The Conti 3G casing features a design that provides increased retreadability through durability in the beads, belt package, and rubber compounding. As well as this, the Conti Scandinavia HD3 tire has a matching retread, the ContiTread Scandinavia HD3 size 210-240, which offers a cradle-to-grave solution for fleets.

The Conti Scandinavia HD3 tire is available in two sizes: 11R22.5 and 11R24.5, load range H, and has a tread depth of 27/32”. Finally, the tire is also available with monitoring sensors if desired.
