BKT (Balkrishna Industries Limited) has introduced the Ridemax Frost tires for transportation and urban maintenance applications on snow and ice-covered surfaces.

The new tire features an advanced tread design for enhanced traction, tread blocks with multiple sipes for additional points of contact, and grooves that entrap snow for optimal traction.

A cold-resistant, specially formulated compound allows the tire to maintain flexibility and elasticity even at sub-zero temperatures, ensuring optimal grip in extreme winter environments, according to BKT. Silica reinforcements also increase resistance to cuts and tears on rough or icy terrain. The tires also offer vibration reduction to help with driver comfort.

"Winter brings a set of unique challenges that put both equipment and their drivers to the test," said Dilip Vaidya, senior president and director of technology at BKT. "Ridemax Frost is designed to overcome these obstacles, offering traction, control and reliability even in the most extreme situations."
