Kumho Tire U.S.A. has debuted a new tire, the Kumho Road Venture RT. Designed for the rugged-terrain light truck segment, the tire will be available in September 2025.
"We have recently seen a consumer segment emerge that is interested in off-road traction performance, as well as on-road driving performance with aggressive tire design and longer tread life,” Shawn Denlein, president of sales and marketing for Kumho told FM affiliate Modern Tire Dealer. “This consumer interest has resulted in an increased market demand for rugged-terrain tires.”
The tire will be available in 27 sizes ranging from 17-22” in diameter. It will also come with 55,000-mile limited tread wear warranty.
According to Rick Cunat, managing director of Kumho Americas Technical Center, the Kumho Road Venture RT focuses on durability and traction to meet the needs of the segment. He noted that they also included interlocking tread blocks for stability and handling, variable pitch design to minimize noise, and a groove design meant to eject water from the tire.
