Continental reaches milestone of 1 million retreads
On Oct. 29, at around 1 PM, Continental will set a new record of 1 million retreads at its ContiLifeCycle facility located in Morelia, in the Mexican state of Michoacán. The ContiLifeCycle plant, which began operations on December 1st, 2010, serves the markets of, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Guatemala, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain, Peru and the United States.
The plant, which employs 70 people, has an installed capacity of 8,100 tons, which the company plans to increase to 9,500 tons. Regarding this accomplishment, Frank Seeger, National Sales Manager at Continental’s Commercial Vehicle Tire Division, said: “Reaching the goal of one million retreads reflects our commitment to offering our customers the highest quality, most cost-effective solutions”. “We started operations in our plant almost 5 years ago. Since then, we have been able to successfully overcome all the challenges we have been faced with, thanks to the synergy of the best materials, technologies, processes, systems, and, most notably, the excellence of our team,” said Arturo Cristiani, Manager of Continental’s ContiLifeCycle plant in Morelia.

The achievement of this major milestone of 1 million retreads is proof of Continental’s commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
