Certified Instructor ATS is a 400-level certification program that provides in-depth and comprehensive instruction on the recommended procedures for servicing modern auto and light truck tires.

The Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) next Certified Instructor Automotive Tire Service (ATS) class will run November 16-19 in Los Angeles. Interested students are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.

Certified Instructor ATS is a 400-level certification program that provides in-depth and comprehensive instruction on the recommended procedures for servicing modern auto and light truck tires. The 15-module program is designed for the professional passenger and light truck tire technician, with subjects ranging from the relationship between torque and clamping force to Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) relearn procedures on domestic and import vehicles.

The class includes an exclusive module on Tire Conditions Analysis that uses images from TIA’s Passenger and Light Truck Tire Conditions Manual to educate technicians on the most likely reasons for common irregular treadwear patterns.

Those who pass the class will be certified as Advanced ATS instructors.

“We are excited to resume in-person classes for Certified Automotive Service Instructors and Los Angeles is a great location for TIA members on the West Coast,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA’s senior vice president of training. “Saddleback is a great facility and has everything we need to provide students with the best passenger and light truck tire training in the industry.”
