Tesla Semi reservation holders allude to remote diagnostics capabilities

Tesla representatives have been taking Tesla Semi prototypes on the road, visiting reservation holders like J.B. Hunt in Arkansas and UPS in Illinios. now, Ruan Transportation in Iowa.

Ruan Transportation Services has reserved five of the all-electric trucks.

“We are excited to have an opportunity to experience the new electric semis," said James Cade, vice president of fleet services, in a blog. "The reservation of these vehicles is part of Ruan’s sustainability efforts and commitment to providing our customers and professional drivers with the best technology available."

Ruan mentioned the trucks remote maintenance and diagnostics capabilities, which will send alerts through Tesla's online portal or app when there's a maintenance issue or regular maintenance is needed. 

“We will continue to be involved with the team at Tesla Motors as they introduce the trucks to the market,” Cade said in a blog. “We will work with them directly to ensure the vehicles will serve us and our customers to the level we both expect.”
