The Kenworth C580 is a severe-service Class 8 truck designed for off-highway applications such as mining, oilfield, and logging operations. It combines Kenworth’s modern 2.1-meter (6.9-foot) cab with the proven C500 chassis, allowing fleets to retain existing planetary axles, specialized suspensions, front drive axles, and twin-steer configurations. A 1,780-sq.-in. cooling module, the largest offered by Kenworth, supports the Cummins X15 EPA 2027 engine with up to 600 hp during stationary operation or low-speed work in extreme heat. The C580 also offers steer axle ratings up to 44,000 lb., drive axle ratings up to 165,000 lb., and gross vehicle weight ratings up to 1 million lb.
