Clarience highlights smart trailer push with new fuel, tire, and lighting solutions
NASHVILLE—Clarience Technologies showcased a host of new technologies with its team of companies at the 2026 TMC Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition, including solutions that improve trailer visibility, simplify maintenance tasks, and reduce downtime, all while advancing a broader “smart trailer” ecosystem built on connected systems, said Paul Sniegocki, executive VP, engineering & chief technology officer at Clarience.
“Smart trailer is all about advanced technologies using advanced connectivity to communicate to the entire infrastructure,” he said during the TMC press conference, “So we can cover any type of sensory product, visibility product, and safety product from the front of the tractor to the rear of the trailer.”
DAVCO Fuel Pro 498
DAVCO introduced the Fuel Pro 498, the next generation in its 48X series. The model combines coolant-based heating from the 483 series with the 3-layer filtration of the 488 to provide 15-micron filtration. The unit is designed for improved cold-weather performance and fuel system protection with multiple heating options.
The system also retains DAVCO’s clear-cover “Seeing is Believing” design, allowing technicians to visually monitor fuel filter status. It also features the Elemax design which helps extend service intervals by optimizing fuel flow and providing a visible indication when the filter is fully loaded. The unit is compatible with biodiesel blends up to B20.
“‘Seeing is Believing’ is a visual diagnostic capability. It's inherent to all DAVCO products,” explained Sean Kilfin, director of on-highway sales at DAVCO. “It's our patented clear cover that allows the operator to see and troubleshoot visually through the clear cover issues that may arise with the fuel system."
Truck-Lite Trailer Back Up Safety System
Truck-Lite previewed a trailer backup safety system designed to address a long-standing issue: most trailers lack integrated reverse lighting or alarms. The system uses a sensor to detect axle rotation and automatically activate rear lighting and optional audible alerts when the trailer is backing up.
“So there's an opportunity there,” said Matt Mrakovich, VP of engineering at Truck-Lite. “How do we basically enhance driver visibility and awareness of those working around the trailer by providing a cost effective solution that's easy to install and doesn't require costly modifications, to enable faster, safer, more confident maneuvering of trailers."
Powered through the ABS circuit, the system is designed as a plug-and-play solution for OEM integration, avoiding the need for additional wiring or retrofits. Benefits include improved driver visibility, increased awareness for yard personnel, and reduced risk of backing-related damage or injury.
The system is slated for availability on 2027 model-year builds.
Rear View Safety Air Vue camera system
Rear View Safety highlighted its Air Vue wireless camera system, designed specifically for tractor-trailer applications. The system uses “pairing-over-power” technology to automatically connect the camera and in-cab monitor through the 7-way connection, eliminating the need for manual pairing steps.
The system supports up to six cameras (wired and wireless) with a 300’ transmission range and 1080p resolution. Built-in recording allows fleets to capture footage for driver coaching or incident review, and AI-enabled detection identifies pedestrians, vehicles, and obstacles.
“All they do is plug in their seven way plug, which they do every day, and automatically, our monitor is going to detect the camera and pair,” explained Alex Trkulja, director of sales at Rear View Safety. “There's no chance for that cab to pair to a different trailer.”
Air Vue integrates with platforms like Samsara and Lytx, making it both a safety and training tool.
P.S.I. Easy Air wheel cover
Pressure Systems International (P.S.I.) announced a partnership with FlowBelow, introducing an aerodynamic wheel cover with integrated Easy Air Access, designed to simplify tire pressure checks and inflation without removing the cover.
The system routes air lines from inner and outer duals to access points on the wheel cover, allowing technicians and drivers to check and adjust pressure quickly. Optional integration with TireView TPMS and TireView LIVE can also enable real-time tire data through telematics platforms.
“This brings the air right to the outer area of the easy access latch,” said Craig Smith, VP of marketing and communications for P.S.I. “You install the wheel cover, and you can check that air on the inner and outer tires without removing anything.”
The system aims to improve tire compliance, reduce irregular wear, and prevent roadside failure by reducing the effort required for pre-trip inspections and maintenance.
Road Ready TrackRR Lite
Road Ready introduced TrackRR Lite, a compact, battery-powered tracker designed for non-powered or infrequently used assets such as storage containers, trailers, and specialized equipment. The device installs in minutes without wiring and delivers GPS location updates via LTE-M cellular connectivity.
Built for long-term deployment, the unit features multi-year battery life and an IP67/IP69K-rated enclosure for harsh environments. It also integrates with the Road Ready Fus1on platform, allowing fleets to track their assets in a single system.
The TrackRR Lite is available now in North America.
