Neumo, a company that aims to redefine driver insight and safety through a combination of years of transportation experience with neuroscience, has announced its latest innovation to be displayed at CES 2026.

The company's new prototype allows its brainwave-based driver measurement sensor to be installed in any commercial vehicle in minutes, without modifying the vehicle or seat. Designed specifically for fleets and dashcam providers seeking deeper insight into driver
risk and what causes accidents, the technology provides a look at what cameras cannot detect. This includes early-stage fatigue, alcohol or drug impairment, cognitive distraction (whether the driver is mentally engaged), and even medical emergencies such as seizures, strokes, or heart attacks.

“Dashcams have made fleets safer, but they only tell part of the story," said Niall Berkery, CEO and co-founder of Neumo. "The most dangerous risks—fatigue, impairment, distraction—start in the brain. Neumo adds the missing layer of insight, enabling fleets to understand the true cause of accidents and intervene earlier than ever before.”

Neumo’s approach centers on analyzing neural signals. By monitoring brainwave activity, the system is designed to detect issues earlier than camera-based systems and identify real-time indicators of impairment, distraction, or medical events. When integrated with dashcams, the technology acts as a complementary layer that can help fleets better understand the underlying causes of incidents rather than just the visible outcome.

The newly announced headrest-mounted sensor was engineered for real-world fleet environments and provides the following benefits:

  • Universal mounting kit that installs in virtually any commercial vehicle
  • No vehicle or seat modification required
  • Installs in under 10 minutes with a single USB connection
  • Durable and built for rough, high-mileage environments
  • Flexible and accommodates different seat types

The system integrates easily with existing dashcams and fleet management platforms,
enabling rapid deployment across mixed vehicle fleets.

Neumo will begin testing with preferred fleet operators and dashcam partners in Q1 2026, with a focus on validating safety improvements, operational integration, and real-world performance at scale.
