FMCSA removes nine ELDs from registered list

Drivers using these revoked ELDs after April 14 will be at risk of being placed out of service.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has removed nine electronic logging devices (ELDs) from its list of registered devices after determining they failed to meet minimum technical requirements under 49 CFR Part 395, Appendix A. The removals, effective Feb. 12, include:

  • GTS ELD
  • UTruckin
  • ELD365 ELOG
  • Ironman ELD
  • Factor ELD
  • Four versions of AirELD

Motor carriers using these devices have 60 days to replace them with compliant ELDs. Beginning April 14, carriers that continue operating with the revoked units will be considered noncompliant and subject to out-of-service violations during roadside inspections.

If providers correct the identified deficiencies, FMCSA may reinstate the devices. In the meantime, fleets should verify ELD compliance to avoid disruptions and enforcement penalties.
