The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to require electronic stability control systems for heavy trucks and buses.

Fleet Maintenance Editor David A. Kolman talks with Alan Korn, Director of Advanced Brake Systems Integration, Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems. Alan discusses the types of stability control systems for heavy vehicles.

He also discusses the two types of stability control systems for heavy duty trucks: roll stability control, and electronic stability control.
