The three new kits are suited for fleets with box trucks or dry vans, sleeper cabs, and reefers, and can be installed in 15-50 minutes depending on the kit.
Phillips Industries has released three new aftermarket installation kits for the Phillips REAR-VU Camera. The new installation its include a Trailer Side Mount Antenna Kit, Trailer Nose Mount Antenna Kit, and Truck Mount Kit.
The REAR-VU Trailer Side Mount Antenna Kit (No. 78-1200) is best suited for retrofitting fleets with box trucks or standard dry vans pulled by day cabs. It includes REAR-VU with a mounting bracket, a directional antenna, and a side-mount installation hardware kit. This kit is the quickest of the three to install at about 15-20 minutes.
The REAR-VU Trailer Nose Mount Antenna Kit (No. 78-1201) is designed for fleets with sleeper cabs or reefers or specialty trailers, and is meant to be installed in the trailer roof seam using included retaining clips. The kit includes REAR-VU with a mounting bracket, a nose antenna, an extended cable, and an installation kit, and can be installed in about 30-50 minutes, depending on the shop equipment available.
Finally, the REAR-VU Truck Mount Kit (No. 78-1202) is meant to be mounted on the back of the tractor cab. This helps drivers align the truck and trailer during coupling, preventing trailer nose damage from the fifth wheel, and can provide rear visibility while deadheading. The kit features REAR-VU with a back-of-cab mounting bracket, an omni-directional antenna, and an installation hardware kit, with an average install time of 15-20 minutes.
All of Phillips’ REAR-VU installation kits have a one-year warranty, weigh less than 1 lb., and can operate in temperatures from -40 degrees F to 158 degrees F. The kits also include 9-36 VDC input voltage, ingress protection IP67/IP69K, compliance with FCC, IC, and NOM; and a light output that meets FMVSS108 requirements.
The move will strengthen Allison's position with customers in construction, mining, and ag, while allowing Dana to streamline its commercial vehicle product lines.
