Shurco SMARTrailer electric systems automate hopper bottom trailer functions
Shurco has introduced its SMARTrailer electric system, a configurable package of tarp, hopper door, remote control, and accessory components designed to automate hopper bottom trailer operations for dry bulk and grain fleets.
Rather than offering a fixed electric package, the solution allows fleets to build a configuration suited to their trailers and workflows. The setup process centers on selecting four core elements: an electric roll tarp, an electric hopper door opener, a remote control interface, and optional accessories.
Electric tarp options include the Shur-Lok E-Series electric roll tarp system, a fully pre-assembled system designed for simplified installation, and the 4500 HD electric tarp system, a heavy-duty unit that supports two-way remote communication and position feedback.
For hopper door automation, fleets can choose between the AutoTrap electric hopper door opener, designed with a lightweight build and higher ground clearance, or the ProTrap electric hopper door opener, which offers heavier-duty construction and multiple torque options along with an automatic mid-stop feature.
Remote control options include the EZR Remote for basic wireless control and the PRO Remote, which adds two-way communication and a color display. Fleets can also configure and adjust system settings through the ShurLink App, which supports mobile device control and firmware updates.
Additional accessories integrate with the same wireless platform, including the DriveMaxx Auger Hopper Drive and LiteALL LED Work Lights.
According to the company, the system is designed to reduce manual effort when opening tarps or hopper doors while allowing drivers to control functions remotely. For fleets operating in agricultural, over-the-road, and off-highway environments, sealed wiring and corrosion-resistant components are intended to improve durability and reduce maintenance needs.
