Phillips Connect names Mark Wallin as president

Phillips Connect has appointed its general manager and SVP of products, Mark Wallin, as company president. Wallin was the primary architect behind the company’s smart trailer technology roadmap and customer strategy, Phillips Connect said.

This roadmap includes recent product launches such as DriverAssist, TrailerID, CargoVision, Roadside Safety, and SolarNet8000. The company said these technologies provide more safety and visibility for drivers and fleet managers, and could eventually benefit fleets looking to deploy autonomous freight solutions.

• DriverAssist: provides drivers with trailer health information during pre-trips and during operation.
• TrailerID: automatically confirms the driver has the correct trailer hooked at the moment of connection
• CargoVision: offers fleets real-time cargo intelligence from inside the trailer
• Roadside Safety: improves awareness of stopped trailers on road via ESS H.E.L.P. Lighting Alerts and sends motorist shoulder vehicle alerts on their navigation apps when hazard lights are turned on
• SolarNet 8000 consolidates location, cargo intelligence, and tire health (TPMS) into a single solar-powered device

Wallin joined the company in 2024 after spending more than two decades in product leadership in connected fleet, IoT, and enterprise SaaS markets.
