Dear Trucking Industry Professional:

The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) invites you to join us for our 2007 Fall Meeting, Sept. 24-27, at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. In addition to a strong slate of educational sessions for equipment professionals, TMC’s Fall Meeting includes a host of added features not ordinarily included in our traditional schedule.

The theme of TMC’s 2007 Fall Meeting—Exploring Advanced Technology—centers around future technologies that manufacturers expect to appear on equipment in model year 2010 and beyond. Many of our educational sessions will address this topic and an advanced technology display will be offered, as explained in detail in the following section of Fleet Maintenance magazine.

In addition, TMC is holding North America’s third annual National Technician Skills Competition September 24-26. The event—called TMCSuperTech2007—will feature professional commercial vehicle technicians competing for top honors and valuable prizes as they demonstrate their diagnostic abilities through a series of 10 skills stations. Organized by TMC’s Professional Technician Development Committee (PTDC), TMCSuperTech2007 will start Monday afternoon and conclude Tuesday evening. Awards will be given for the top three technicians during Wednesday’s Awards Luncheon. Spectators are more than welcome during the hands-on skills portion of the contest, so stop by and see what TMCSuperTech2007 is all about.

In conjunction with TMCSuperTech2007, the Council is offering the PTDC Technician Training Fair. The Fair will offer hands-on training sessions in areas such as cooling system maintenance; trailer bushing maintenance; tire inspection and inflation maintenance, basic electronics, computer service tools, and much more. These sessions are being organized by TMC’s PTDC, which has been launched to increase technician training opportunities and involvement within the Council. The fair will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26.

For details, review the material provided on the following pages, or visit TMC’s website: http://tmc.truckline.com. For information, call (703) 838-1763. On behalf of TMC’s Board of Directors, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and join us at TMC’s 2007 Fall Meeting. We look forward to seeing you in Nashville.

Sincerely,

Carl Kirk
TMC Executive Director
