Founded in 1935, The Hand Tools Institute (HTI)  exists to promote and further the interests of its members relative to manufacturing, safety, product standardization and international trade.  Members of HTI attend the annual congress of European hand tool manufacturers. An important objective of the institute is to educate the hand tool user on the safe and proper use of hand tools.

HTI’s annual meeting and election took place Oct. 1 and 2 in Rosemont, Ill., with more than 60 hand tool manufacturing executives in attendance.
