Safelite AutoGlass, the nation’s largest provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services with a fleet of 6,000, announced it will transition to Ford. Safelite’s parent company, Belron SA, which operates in 32 countries, recently completed a global proposal process with Ford winning the bid for overall fit, function, style, price and total cost of ownership.

As Safelite’s fleet vehicles are replaced under normal cycling time, Ford E150 vans will be rolled out to mobile technicians, and repair specialists will transition to the Ford Focus Hatchback. Sales and operations staff will be provided the Ford Taurus or Fusion.

Combined with Belron’s other brands throughout the world, the contract with Ford includes a total of just under 7,500 vehicles, with 3,300 in North America, over the next three years.

In addition, in an effort to continually improve the efficiency of Safelite’s fleet, the Southern California market continues testing the new electric Chevrolet Volt.
