Milwaukee Tool has introduced its Gen II Voltage Detector lineup, expanding its non-contact voltage testing tools for technicians working around electrical systems with a focus on portability, visibility, and faster battery changes, while maintaining detection of AC voltage from 50V to 1000V. Milwaukee said the tools are designed to help technicians quickly identify live circuits before servicing equipment.

The three product additions are the Voltage Detector & Voltage Detector with LED, Dual Range Non‑Contact Voltage Detector & Dual Range Non‑Contact Voltage Detector with LED, and Voltage Detector & GFCI Tester Kit and Digital GFCI Tester & Voltage Detector with LED Kit.

The standard Non-Contact Voltage Detector and Non-Contact Voltage Detector with LED provide visual and audible alerts when voltage is present. The LED version includes an independently operated work light to improve visibility in low-light or confined areas, such as under dashboards, inside electrical panels, or within equipment compartments.

Milwaukee also added Dual Range Non-Contact Voltage Detector models. These tools detect both low voltage (12–49V) and higher voltage (50–1000V), automatically distinguishing between the two. A yellow indicator signals low voltage, while a red indicator identifies higher voltage. LED-equipped versions include a built-in work light for improved jobsite visibility.

The company is also offering kits that pair voltage detectors with GFCI receptacle testers. The Voltage Detector and Voltage Detector with LED kits combine non-contact voltage detection with outlet testing for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

The GFCI receptacle tester identifies common wiring conditions, including hot/ground reversed, hot/neutral reversed, open hot, open neutral, open ground, and correct wiring, and verifies proper GFCI function through a test activation.

These tools will be available in April 2026. All Milwaukee Gen II Voltage Detectors carry a CAT IV 1000V safety rating and are backed by a two-year warranty. The kits include two AAA batteries and a one-year warranty for the tester components.
