Amerit Fleet Solutions acquired Kirk NationaLease (KNL) and Truck & Trailer Parts Solutions (TTPS), adding 19 shops to its vast network of more than 1,000 locations across the country. KNL provides contract maintenance, mobile service, and shop management, while TTPS offers truck and trailer upfitting services.

“KNL and TTPS have built outstanding reputations by putting customers first for more than five decades,” Amerit CEO Ross Rachey said. “Their talented teams, strong culture, and operational excellence make them an exceptional fit for Amerit as we continue expanding our nationwide platform.”

Amerit noted how these 19 physical repair shops are strategically located. The sister companies are both headquartered in Sidney, Ohio, a city within a day’s drive of 60% of the U.S, and Canadian population. KNL also has repair shops across the East Coast and Midwest, as well as San Antonio.

With TTPS, Amerit also now has a centrally located site to upfit truck bodies, liftgates, solar systems, APUs and more. Last year, Amerit acquired California-based upfitter Derotic Emergency, which specializes in fire, police, emergency medical, utility and government vehicles.

During that acquisition, Amerit also acquired Vector Fleet Management. This past May, the company brought in its Canada-based maintenance provider Pro Reefer.

With the KNL locations, Amerit stated that “customers will benefit from an expanded network of technicians, enhanced service capabilities, greater geographic coverage, and a broader portfolio of services and solutions designed to maximize vehicle uptime and reduce total cost of ownership.”

KNL, founded in 1969, had been a member of the larger NationaLease network since 1975. Amerit offers similar services including contract and mobile maintenance and shop management. It does not provide direct leasing to customers, but offers comprehensive end-to-end lifecycle planning through its Fleet Acquisitions & Disposals unit.
