Big-Time Boxes: Jesus Sanchez

This mixed brand set up is 75" wide, 60" tall and 24" deep.

Owner: Jesus Sanchez

Shop: Griffin Ford Lincoln

Location: Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin

Starting out as a technician, Jesus Sanchez quickly purchased his first box, a Cornwell ProSeries, from a local distributor after outgrowing his tool cart.

"I was pretty much new, " Sanchez says of his first tool box purchase in 2012. "The distributor said he had it on his truck, and asked if I wanted it."

The rest is history. (Hint: He said yes.)

Years later, with his 75" long storage system filling up, Sanchez purchased a 72" Homak H2Pro top chest to fit on top.

Now in its entirety, his mix-and-match system measures 75" wide, 60" tall and 24" deep and features 24 drawers organized by tool category.

Each drawer, whether housing his sockets or wrenches, uses small organizers, like wrench racks and socket holders, to keep these smaller tools in order.

The deep bottom drawer of the Cornwell main box is one of Sanchez's favorite features, because they hold larger tools, like his favorite Milwaukee Tool cordless impact wrench, with ease.

While his box isn't filled to capacity just yet, to save on space and keep organized, Sanchez rarely keeps tools in blow molded cases tool sets come in.

Sanchez says this tool setup is good for now, but he's just getting started. After talking to one of his fellow techs at Griffin Ford Lincoln in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, who has an all-matching neon orange Mac Tools setup, he's thinking ahead. In the future, Sanchez wants to sell one half and put that money toward a matching set. And, it doesn't stop there.

"I want the side cabinets, and stuff like that," Sanchez says. "More fancy, you know."

You know what they say, go big or go home.
