The Chief Automotive Technologies Heavy Duty Weld Fume Extractor protects technicians against breathing toxic welding fumes and harmful airborne particulates. The compact extractor has a long vertical reach and is equipped with powdercoated aluminum tubes and cast aluminum joints. It uses an electric motor to draw weld fumes through a 7' cylindrical arm that leads to a large ProTura Nanofiber cartridge. The filter offers a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of 15 on a scale of 1 to 16. A built-in pressure gauge shows when the filter should be replaced, and the machine’s Quick Seal door release provides fast filter removal. An optional arc detector will automatically turn on the fume extractor as soon as the technician strikes the arc. Other options include a hood-mounted light kit and an extended 10' arm.
