Product: Ingersoll Rand says its W5330 3/8" 20V Right Angle Impactool is designed to be powerful, durable and ergonomic. It features a right angle design and 180ft/lbs of reactionless torque. Its slim, lightweight design offers the reach of a ratchet, plus has a head only 2.2” in height for access to those hard-to-reach jobs. No air is required since the tool has the company’s patent-pending Inline battery.
Review: Done by: Eric Moore of DeMary Truck his shop in Columbus, Ohio. He used the tool for replacing sway bar links on a 2001 Nissan Frontier and for breaking lug nuts loose on a utility trainer.
Moore said he immediately found the Ingersoll Rand W5330 was easy to use and handy, especially in tight areas where a typical impact gun would not fit.
One of the most striking characteristics of the W5330 was that it did not function like a conventional ratchet or impact, noted Moore. “The head spins freely and only applies torque under load.
“The battery life was pretty impressive also,” he said. With an initial charge, the battery lasted almost six hours with continuous use.
Moore said the tool was “almost ready to use right out of the box,” except for the need to charge the battery and install a boot designed to protect the head of the tool.
He experienced some difficulty trying to install the protective boot as “it was not flexible at all. We ended up laying it in the sun and using just a small amount of mineral oil to get it to slide over the head of the tool.”
Moreover, Moore said the W5330 was very “adaptive.” That, along with its long-lasting battery life and quick recharge rate, made him appreciate the tool overall.
The tool “really did impress me,” he concluded. “I definitely think this one deserves a rating of 10 (out of 10). I know I will be finding uses for this tool for years to come.”
