Question: Why do bits break?

Answer:

Design

A small chip pocket means low flute volume, leading to breakage in the middle of the bit.

Conditions

Torque and drag lead to heat and breakage. Apply drill lube.

Manufacturing

Machined > Stamped

Better bits have a micro point that prevents wandering.
