The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) is once again rallying the trucking community to give back to those who serve. Its 19th annual Truckers for Troops campaign will run November 10–16, 2025, coinciding with Veterans Day week, in order to send care packages to deployed troops and provide aid to veterans’ facilities across the country.

The campaign originally began by shipping care packages to military personnel overseas, and has since expanded to support veterans facilities, including those assisting or housing wounded, disabled, or homeless service members since the launch of the project in 2007.

Over the past 18 years, truck drivers and OOIDA members have raised more than $800,000, sent over 3,200 care packages, and supported 65 veteran facilities, helping an estimated 39,000 military members. Among the beneficiaries is the Veterans Community Project (VCP), a Kansas City-based nonprofit that builds “tiny home” communities and provides services to help homeless veterans. VCP is now expanding nationwide, with new locations planned in Oklahoma City, OK, Milwaukee, WI, and Glendale, AZ.

During the one-week campaign, truckers can join or renew OOIDA memberships for $35, with 10% of that fee donated directly to the cause. OOIDA also matches every 10% contribution dollar-for-dollar. Those who wish to participate can do so by phone, online, or mail.
