Kolman’s Komments: That’s some pedelec you got there

A personal mobility concept vehicle.

How’d you like to have a personal vehicle that not only emits fewer emissions but is a holistic approach for mobility for tomorrow?

German company Schaeffler – a leading innovator with a large number of technologies which make mobility more economical, environmentally-friendly and safer – has come out with a bio-hybrid powered personal mobility concept vehicle as a solution for urban mobility. The compact bio hybrid is a pedelec – a vehicle that supports the rider with electric power only while he or she is pedaling.

It is similar to a bicycle but without the disadvantages in terms of weather protection and stowage space. Plus, it has two front and rear wheels that provide increased safety and driving stability.

The vehicle’s electrically-assisted drive system has a restriction of 25 km/h (about 16 mph) and a minimum range of 50 kilometers (a tad more than 31 miles).

It can be operated without a driver’s license.

For my part, I’ll stick with my stylized pickup truck for my personal mobility vehicle.
