Fullbay acquires Pitstop in shift toward predictive maintenance
Fullbay has announced the acquisition of Pitstop, adding predictive maintenance tools to its shop management platform. The integration will combine Pitstop’s modeling technology with Fullbay's repair and service data from more than 5,000 shops and $6.5 billion in annual service activity, which the company says will help fleets better anticipate maintenance issues before they impact operations.
Pitstop’s software analyzes billions of data points to detect fault patterns and predict equipment failures, with a claimed accuracy rate of more than 94%. Fullbay said the Pitstop integration will also provide:
- Real-time unit monitoring
- Automatically generated service requests
- Predictive insights and health reports
- Inventory predictions
The new capabilities will help prevent breakdowns and improve driver safety, the company said.
“In our industry, operations are too often reactive, and the repair process can be inefficient due to unpredictability. When a truck breaks down – possibly in a situation unsafe for the driver and other motorists – the unit is towed, the problem is inspected, parts are ordered, the unit is fixed, and the process repeats,” Fullbay CEO Trent Broberg said. “This acquisition enables us to change that model by delivering predictive maintenance, real-time diagnostics, fault-code management and automated fleet communication directly into Fullbay, revolutionizing the experience for fleets and heavy-duty repair."
He added that the company vetted “every solution in the market and feel like we found the best AI predictive maintenance solution in the market to leverage our data of over $26 billion in repairs.”
That focus on moving away from reactive maintenance aligns with Pitstop’s core approach to predictive analytics and early fault detection.
“Pitstop was built to help fleets move from ‘fix it when it fails’ to knowing what’s coming next and acting before downtime, cost, or safety risks hit,” said Shiva Bhardwaj, CEO and founder of Pitstop. “By integrating Pitstop’s AI-powered predictive technology with Fullbay's comprehensive platform, we can scale our impact across the industry while delivering the proactive, data-driven solutions that fleets desperately need to improve safety, reduce costs, and maximize uptime."
Pitstop plans to release more information on the acquisition at the Diesel Connect user conference in May.
