After Kenworth recently enabled access to their remote diagnostics platform, TruckTech+, via Paccar Solutions’ web portal, Peterbilt is now following suit with their system, SmartLINQ Remote Diagnostics.

Now, SmartLINQ users can evaluate their subscriptions and handle direct payments with credit cards or ACH drafts using the online portal, as well as handle over-the-air updates for Engine & Aftertreatment software. However, it must be noted that this functionality is currently only accessible on Class 8 trucks, MY 2017 or those with newer Paccar MX-11 or MX-13 engines. But users can ubiquitously monitor, manage, and renew their soon-to-expire subscriptions through Paccar Solutions by logging in and selecting the ‘Subscriptions’ section.

Otherwise, the online portal allows users to monitor over 800 diagnostic codes and receive real-time service alerts and recommendations on how to handle them. When these warnings arrive, drivers and back-office management will also be able to see the three nearest Peterbilt dealership locations, allowing them to evaluate their driver’s next move.

This marriage of SmartLINQ hardware and Paccar Solutions online access is standard on Peterbilt’s Class 8 trucks, specifically on 579, 567, 389, and 520, including a complimentary 2-year subscription for the Paccar Solutions portal.

Peterbilt stated that the goal was to streamline their vehicle’s service and maintenance for the 100,000+ assets that currently have a SmartLINQ subscription.
