For the first time last year, TMC held a technician competition for students – TMCFutureTech – in conjunction with TMCSuperTech2014.
TMCFutureTech was established as a way “to highlight the importance of recruiting young people into the trucking industry and recognizing their efforts,” says Carl Kirk, ATA vice president of maintenance, information technology and logistics, and TMC executive director.
“Sponsoring TMCFutureTech2015 is our way of supporting the effort to attract new technicians,” says Deryk Powell, president of Velociti (www.velociti.com), A global provider of technology deployment services.
TMCFutureTech2015 consists of a set of skill stations for technician students to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Winners will be announced at Wednesday’s TMCSuperTech 2015 Awards Luncheon.
Student registration is limited to 80 individuals for this year’s competition. The registration fee is $200. Registration cutoff is Aug. 21.
