TechForce is working to celebrate tech contributions as role models in their shops and communities, and are currently calling for nominations from colleagues, mentors, or friends.

TechForce, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting students on the path to a technical career, has opened nominations for their 2023 Techs Rock Awards. The awards offer $18,500 in prizes, which is divvied up among five categories:

  • The Outstanding Mentor, for those who support and guide future technicians
  • The Rookie of the Year, for techs with under two years of experience
  • The Die Hard Award, for those demonstrating incredible commitment to the industry
  • The Barrier Buster Award, for those who overcome incredible obstacles
  • The Pay it Forward, for those who are community advocates and inspirations

Each of the five Category Winners for the Techs Rock Awards will receive $1,900 in tools, gift cards, merch, and more from Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone, Cengage learning, CRC Industries, Ford Motor Company, Nissan, Snap-on Industrial, and WD-40 Company.

Nominees must be full-time technicians in the auto, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle, marine, aviation, restoration, or motorsports industry, and demonstrate a strong, positive impact in their workplace and mastery in their technical skills. Those nominated must also have concrete examples of how they apply to the category they are nominated for, and a tech may only be nominated for a single category.

The nomination form requires contact information for both the nominator and the nominee, as well as specific examples of why the nominee is deserving, their accomplishments and contributions to their community and the industry, and any other details.
