Bendix in-person technician training for Q4 2023

Aug. 31, 2023
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems will be offering in-person technician training sessions on air brake systems and advanced technology in several cities throughout the U.S.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, a developer and manufacturer of commercial vehicle safety technology, will hold in-depth and in-person technical training sessions in Indiana, Kentucky, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas throughout October, November, and December. These sessions will include air brake training and advanced technology training

The air brake training class will cover the description, operation, and service elements for the total range of components found within dual air brake systems. Topics include fundamentals of compressed air, tactics for air system failure mode diagnosis and troubleshooting, and air brake system and foundation brake components (air compressors, valves, foundation drum brakes, and air disc brakes).

The advanced technology training class covers the operation and troubleshooting of higher-level driver assistance and safety systems, as well as diagnostic software. In addition, the session includes in-depth, hands-on maintenance for Bendix air disc brakes and electrical diagnostics. Systems addressed in the course include:

  • Active Steering by Bendix
  • Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS)
  • AutoVue Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System from Bendix CVS
  • Bendix ACom Diagnostics Software
  • Bendix ESP Electronic Stability Program full-stability technology
  • Bendix Wingman Advanced and Bendix Wingman Fusion driver assistance systems
  • SafetyDirect by Bendix CVS
  • SmarTire and SmarTire Trailer-Link TPMS by Bendix CVS

Due to the quantity and complexity of the products covered in the advanced technology training, Bendix highly recommends that each student complete the Bendix air brake training (three-day) class, or at minimum the online brake school at brake-school.com before taking the Advanced Technology Training class. Both classes include classroom lectures and practical hands-on exercises, plus visual aids to demonstrate the components and related systems. Most locations feature operational demonstration boards.

All registrants in three-day air brake training and two-day advanced technology training courses may elect to take part in a written test administered at the close of each class. Bendix will grade the exam, and registrants earning a passing grade will receive a tested-and-passed certificate. Those who take the exam and don’t pass will receive a certificate of completion, as will registrants who elect not to participate in the optional testing. In-person Bendix training and the optional test are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and this does not take the place of any instruction or certification exam administered by the DOT.

Each training will take place on the following dates and locations:
