Fleet Maintenance hires Matthew Rand as associate editor
EndeavorB2B has hired Matthew Rand as an associate editor for Fleet Maintenance Magazine and Trailer-Body Builders. Rand will cover the commercial vehicle maintenance sector, including the latest on technology and regulations, as well as news related to commercial truck bodies, trailers, and truck equipment.
This is a new opportunity for Rand, who spent 14 years in professional broadcast journalism, where he reported breaking news, politics and community issues in Kentucky and Ohio. He said he is looking forward to bringing his multimedia skills to the transportation industry.
“I’ve always been fascinated by how things work — the engineering behind complex systems and the people who keep them running,” Rand said. “The trucking industry is full of that kind of problem-solving, from vehicle technology to fleet operations, and I’m excited to highlight and learn from the people who keep the industry moving.”
Rand was selected among a pool of highly qualified candidates, according to Fleet Maintenance Editor-in-Chief John Hitch.
“We were impressed with Matthew’s strong news sense and dedication to honest reporting and telling the story how it is,” Hitch said. “And as our brands move to more podcasts and video content, Matthew’s experience and interviewing abilities will really shine.”
Rand said he looks forward to connecting with fleet managers, technicians, suppliers, and other industry professionals to better understand the challenges and innovations shaping the trucking industry.
Rand, an Ohio native, is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two corgis.
