Meta and Be Pro Be Proud launch 10th anniversary mobile workshop tour
Meta is investing $500,000 in a 10-stop tour introducing students to careers in construction, manufacturing, transportation, and utilities.
The company has collaborated with Be Pro Be Proud to launch the 10th Anniversary Mobile Workshop Tour aimed at introducing young people to technical career opportunities and the education pathways available to them.
The tour began in Coppell, Texas, where Be Pro Be Proud launched its third statewide initiative with support from Meta, following initiatives in Tennessee and New Mexico.
Meta’s $500,000 investment will support 10 Mobile Workshop stops across Alabama, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. Fall stop locations and event details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Since 2023, Meta and Be Pro Be Proud said the programs have introduced nearly 70,000 students to technical workforce opportunities.
The Mobile Workshop uses immersive simulators to let participants explore more than 16 occupations across construction, manufacturing, transportation, and utilities. Events bring together students, families, educators, and industry partners and are tailored to regional workforce needs.
"As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, there's no better gift than the opportunity to reach even more students," said Andrew Parker, executive director of Be Pro Be Proud. "We're incredibly grateful to Meta for helping us connect more young people with rewarding career pathways that can have a lasting impact on their lives, families and communities. Every student deserves the chance to explore these professions and see what's possible for their future."
Meta’s investment is part of its broader workforce-development efforts, including America’s Workforce Academy, which provides training and career opportunities in skilled trades.
