Auto Talent Co-Op aims to take action on technician shortage
The Auto Talent Co-Op (ATC) launches this month to bring the auto industry members together to take action on the tech shortage.
This non-profit collective has been designed to employ action pods staffed with millennial and Gen X aged team members who meet from across the USA once a week via video conference.
There has been a lot of great work done by many groups across the space of auto but the energy dies out or does not get wide spread traction, the company says. The vision of the ATC creates a mechanism to synchronize the momentum of those best practices already in place and help auto related employers develop talent to fill technical and non-technical jobs.
Tool manufacturers, parts suppliers, paint suppliers and the rest of the major auto industry powers are challenged to nominate and provide one or more of their staff to support the weekly action pods.
In the early phase, ATC needs five action pod members per segment to build the momentum. There are five action areas that will make ATC’s mission a top priority, including: Career Paths, Recruiting, Training, “Must Have” and Sustainable.
The company needs 25 millennial and Gen X people from the auto industry to drive the co-op forward and calls leaders in the automotive space to search staffs for the best candidate or candidates to join in the solution.
