The Snugnut System

Sept. 14, 2017
A new method for installing tapered roller bearings within the range of preload recommended by leading bearing manufacturers.

Until the Snugnut System was invented, vehicle maintenance technicians had no understanding on how to proceed if they were asked to install “controlled preload” on wheel bearings in wheelend assemblies. This is because reliable instructions to accomplish that task have never been published.

However, by using the Snugnut System, it is now possible to install tapered roller bearings within the range of preload recommended by leading bearing manufacturers.

The Snugnut System allows a specific level of controlled preload to be installed in the wheelend assembly merely by following this new systematic installation procedure. It does not require special tooling and it can be achieved using conventional nuts and washers.
