VSP News: Kolman's Korner, Episode 87 - Advanced Vehicle Technologies

Aug. 27, 2015
Todd Acker, director of marketing for Peterbilt Motors Company, discusses keeping commercial vehicle technicians and dealer sales personnel up-to-date on the accelerating pace of technology.

In this installment, Fleet Maintenance editor David A. Kolman talks about some of the challenges arising from technological advancements to commercial vehicles with Todd Acker, director of marketing for Peterbilt Motors Company.

Their discussion centers on how to keep commercial vehicle technicians and dealer sales personnel up-to-date on the accelerating pace of technology.

In recent years, emissions changes and the regulations that come along with those, as well as the general technology that comes along with it, require a higher degree of training for technicians. They must be capable of working on the vehicles and keeping them on the road. Training curricula must be developed to support that.
