A short time ago, Fleet Maintenance’s editor, David A. Kolman, severely shattered his left kneecap (patella). As a result of this incident, orthopedic professionals have placed him out of service.
This special blog will report on his progress back to full mobility – for him, that is. He has his own peculiar gait due to previous leg injuries.
Some, however, would question his “stability.”
The incident
We begin The Kolman Patella Chronicles with what was the cause of Kolman’s injury. It occurred as a result of:
A. His not maintaining three points of contact when exiting a cabover tractor.
B. While in his leather-sole orange and brown Wingtip dress shoes, he literally busted a move while swing dancing.
C. Not paying attention during a tour of an engine plant, he was run into by an automated guided material handling vehicle.
D. A blow to the knee during a sandlot WWF wrestling competition.
E. Other reason.

The true cause of the fractured knee will be revealed in a future Chronicle.
