Supreme Court denies Toyota appeal of suits claiming Prius brakes defective

Toyota sought arbitration in cases claiming Prius brakes defective.

The U.S. Supreme Court denied a Toyota Motor Corp. appeal to force arbitration of California lawsuits over the brakes in Prius cars which consumers claimed were defective, according to Bloomberg News. Toyota appealed a federal appeals court decision that said company could not enforce the arbitration clauses in its dealers’ purchase agreements with customers.
