Jan. 3, 2017
Toby Faulkner, director of new Freightliner Cascadia development for Daimler Trucks North America, talks about what goes into designing a new heavy duty truck.

Much goes into creating an all-new truck and ensuring that is robust.

I asked Toby Faulkner, director of new Cascadia development for Daimler Trucks North America for some insight into new truck development. Daimler – the leading heavy duty truck manufacturer in North America – recently introduced its new Freightliner Cascadia, which – says the company – is the most advanced truck Freightliner has ever designed.

Manufacturing for quality encompasses a number of core elements.

Another component is the empowerment of truck factory assemblers.

Freightliner master technicians went over the new Cascadia to check for ease of serviceability and offer maintenance improvement recommendations.
