VSP News: Kolman's Korner, Episode 126 - Transportation's Talent Vacuum

March 14, 2017
Paul Menig, chairman of the board of the National Transportation Center, discusses an initiative to address the transportation industry’s need for skilled workers.

America’s transportation sector has a desperate, growing need for skilled workers, says Paul Menig, chairman of the board of the National Transportation Center, NTC for short.

This is an initiative to address the transportation industry’s critical and long-term training, workforce recruitment and retention efforts, while supporting veterans transitioning from active duty and seeking new challenges.

One of the problems for the talent vacuum is finding qualified applicants.

NTC was founded by Preston Harrison.

NTC, which is being developed on a 200-acre site near Indianapolis, is seeking help to develop curricula and scholarships for youth and military personnel, and to acquire current vehicles and equipment.

I asked Menig how people could learn more about NTC or get involved.
