Over the past few years, much time and effort has been devoted to improving the fuel economy of trucks. So says Ben Karrer, global product strategy manager for Eaton Corporation.

Eaton is a diversified industrial products manufacturer in the fluid power, industrial, commercial controls, automotive and truck industries.

One of the ways that this can be done in trucks with manual transmissions is to employ a strategy called downspeeding, as Karrer explains.
