Volvo Trucks starts series production of all-new Volvo VNL

The VNL’s production start will take place at the New River Valley Assembly Plant, and 400 of the vehicles will arrive at dealerships across North America.

Volvo Trucks North America has begun production on the latest version of the Volvo VNL, using the truck’s commercial launch to christen their New River Valley Assembly Plant in Dublin, Virginia.

“We are excited to be rolling out the all-new Volvo VNL to our valued dealer partners and can’t wait for our customers to receive them into their operations to experience the future of trucking today," said Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America. "This truck was designed to change everything and represents Volvo Trucks’ dedication to innovation by combining state-of-the-art technology with unparalleled fuel efficiency, driver comfort, and safety.”

The truck features four exterior and interior trim levels: Core, Edge, Edge Black, and Ultimate. Clients can select from six cab configurations, all of which feature advanced aerodynamics for improved fuel efficiency. The Volvo VNL also comes with safety technologies such as collision avoidance systems and connectivity solutions, as well as ergonomic seating, advanced climate control, and noise reduction features inside the cab.

For orders for the Volvo VNL, the company has industry-first packaging to simplify the spec’ing process, and service representatives will be able to access e-learning and in-person, instructor-led training from Volvo Trucks Academy.

According to the company, over 400 VNLs will be arriving at North American dealerships in conjunction with the series production start. These trucks will include a mix of sleeper and day cabs, and come with various packages, trim levels, powertrain offerings.
